Inception torrent. Inception scene. I actually liked this film a lot; I like Christopher Nolan's stuff. "Memento" was stellar. And although there are many plot holes, contradictions, and other bits of carelessness in the filmmaking process, it's still a visually stunning experience. one that led me to watch it several times. Also, it helps to turn on the DVD's subtitles in order to discern what the heck Saito is saying during several key scenes.
I didn't get too hung up on trivial inconsistencies because the movie moves along at a lively pace. To paraphrase Ariadne, it's more about the feel.
OK, so if you're in the middle of a dream, and "an extremely powerful sedative" is being used, you end up in limbo if you get killed. However, because Yusuf tailored the sedative to leave inner ear function unimpaired, the falling-to-your-death sensation will still wake you up even if you're many layers deep. So why didn't they just drop Saito if they were worried about losing him to limbo? Oh, and if you've never been in limbo before, you automatically end up in the infinite depths of the subconscious world of one of your co-dreamers who might've been there before. In other words, let's just make stuff up and call it good.
Nevertheless, Inception" is still a nifty flick with plenty of cool visuals to keep you interested. It's a fun ride.

Nolan after Dark Night, Di Caprio after Shutter riguing plot, mind bending ideas, crazy special all perfect ingredients for the perfect entertaining cerebral blockbuster movie! So is it? Blockbuster? you bet, entertaining? hell yeah! cerebral? you gotta pay real attention here. Perfect? ummmmm not really( i can see those eyebrows going' up already. well i have my reasons! I have always been a fan of Nolan's Memento and i consider it as a unique piece of filmcraft. Dark Night is another one of a kind movie from Nolan! what I'm saying is that I cannot place this offering up there with the two of 'em! Don't get me wrong, Inception is as good as they get. nay probably much better than the usual crop of movies one gets to see nowadays! but just don't expect something as thought provoking as Memento or an accomplished actioner like Dark Night. Nolan has said himself that The Matrix, Dark City were his inspiration, and it shows. there are so many striking similarities! But The Matrix, Memento, and to an extent Dark City delved deep into the mind's recesses and addressed many psychological subtexts as well as Philosophical Heath Ledger's Joker from Dark Knight brought so many layers to the Psyche of the villain! Inception teases with some dark stuff on a few occasions, but barely skims the surface. At it's core it remains an extremely well made sci-fi action thriller(a la Minority Report) with a heist plot and a great ensemble cast! Could have gone on to reach new highs with all the exciting the experimental underground scene at the Chemist's bunker where some old people were living in a dream state where they were young. someone asks " who are you to question their reality? they choose to be in an alternative reality where they can be forever young or rather perceive youth forever! Well before this review gets boring, let me conclude by saying that the movie brought back memories of watching The Matrix for the first time way back in 1999! the cast was immaculate, only it was hard understanding Ken Watanabe's accent! The action and CGI were breath taking! and visually it is a treat! Hans Zimmer's music sets the pulse racing! couldn't help but think of what a good score could have done to Avatar! go watch it people. two thumbs up.
